Rosettes Direct & Grassington Festival Strive For World Record
Organisers of a Yorkshire festival have worked day and night in an attempt to beat a World Record!
This year was the 30th anniversary of the Grassington Festival so the organisers decided they wanted to do something a little different. Bryony Pritchard, visual arts director and Amelia Vyvyan, festival director started throwing ideas around and discovered that the World Record for the longest line of continuous bunting was 2,160 metres, which around 9,000 individual flags!
They then needed a “bunting partner” with specialist machinery to produce the record-breaking bunting! Rosettes Direct came to assist and after 200 hours of continuous sowing they produced an unbroken line of bunting that measured 2,600 metres with 11,000 flags!
David Wallace, MD of Rosettes Direct said “we were delighted to help the team at Grassington break this record! The Grassington Festival is an fantastic event and this year was arguably the best ever show that’s been put on.”
